We are currently looking for a Senior Data Engineer to join our Brussels teams for a long-term mission within a large-scale international financial environment.

Responsibilities:

As a Senior Data Engineer, you will join the "Control & Reporting Factory" unit. You will be the key player in collecting, processing, and analyzing data to support critical business decisions and provide strategic data-driven insights to stakeholders.

• Engineering & Analysis (80% of the time): Collect, clean, link, and validate data from multiple complex sources. Identify trends, patterns, and anomalies.

• Governance & Integrity: Ensure data integrity and compliance with high industry standards (Data Governance, GDPR).

• Architecture & Self-Service: Set up data pooling and sampling solutions using end-user-friendly techniques to promote business autonomy.

• Strategic Recommendations: Distill key messages for management and propose remediation plans based on your deep-dive analysis.

• Agile Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into precise technical data solutions.

What we are looking for:

• Experience: At least 5 years of relevant experience in Data Analytics or Data Engineering.

• Technical Mastery:

  • Strong proficiency in SQL and knowledge of SAS.

  • Proven experience in setting up data solutions in complex environments.

  • Advanced Excel and VBA skills for complex data manipulation.

  • Bonus: Knowledge of data visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau).

• Soft Skills: Strong synthesis and presentation skills, with the ability to negotiate and build relationships with internal stakeholders. You are a pro-active "self-starter" capable of working autonomously while maintaining team alignment.

• Language Requirements: Fluent in English, French, and Dutch. (Trilingualism is essential for this Brussels-based context).

Work Environment:

• Location: Hybrid in Brussels (50% on-site at the client, 50% homeworking).

• Duration: Long-term mission (10 months or more).
