The Mission:

As our Data & Tech Lead, you are the primary architect and executor of our data strategy. This isn’t a "sit-back-and-delegate" role; you are the first hire in our Belgian data department. Your mission? Transform raw data into a strategic asset, moving from a blank canvas to a fully operational, scalable data stack.

You will bridge the gap between business stakeholders and technical infrastructure, ensuring every tool or line of code drives clear commercial value. Supported by an extensive network of Smile specialists across Europe, you will make Smile a leader in Data & Tech.

What you will do concretely?

Strategize & Launch: Develop the Go-to-Market plan. Define our focus, our "why," and identify our ideal clients.
Lead from the Front: Use your expertise to execute the plan firsthand. Start by building a client base alongside our Business Developers.
Build & Scale: Once the concept is proven, hire and lead your own team. Surround yourself with talent to bring your vision to as many clients as possible.
Architect & Execute: Navigate between high-level strategic decisions and hands-on debugging. You own the "0 to 1" phase.
Pitch & Influence: Act as the face of our Data expertise, pitching to clients and communicating the strategic vision both internally and externally.

Your profile 🧑‍💼 👩‍💼

You have 8+ years of experience in Data Engineering or Architecture, including at least 2 years in a leadership capacity. You thrive in "0 to 1" environments and possess a true entrepreneurial mindset.
